Exploring Bletchley Park

Thirty Year 10 students explored the code breaking wonders of Bletchley Park in a fascinating trip. As the students travelled to the venue they viewed the Imitation Game to enhance their understanding of Alan Turing and the code-breakers.

A guide gave an excellent overview of Bletchley Park and the students then participated in an engaging workshop using Morse Code messages and an Enigma App. They also marvelled at the Enigma Machine. As part of the self-guided tour they viewed the museum entitled The Life and Works of Alan Turing which included the reconstructed Turing-Welchman Bombe. A tour of Hut 8 enabled them to see the hut where Turing worked, including his office.

This trip gave students a superb insight into an amazing chapter of our heritage.
