Working under pressure on BBC News Report

The BBC Schools News Report Day was action packed at The Derby. Our eager reporters from Year 9 and 10 began the day preparing by watching the video what is news? From this they gained valuable tips enabling them to get to the heart of what really matters. They were then interviewed on BBC Radio Manchester as they articulately discussed fake news. Further research and a frenzied editorial meeting enabled them to pitch their story ideas and subsequently write their scripts.

As they prepared to film they viewed videos on how to film and present. Putting their skills into practice, they raced against the looming deadline to pull everything together. Working under pressure, they ensured they met the deadline to complete and upload their first class work, that featured stories looking at both fake news and the issue of computer game ratings and their relevance.

An adrenaline fueled day had paid off!
