Inspired to make a difference

The end of term finished in celebratory style at The Derby with our fabulous Year Group Prizegivings!

This was the time to join together as a school community and rejoice together, recognising the determination, motivation and drive that our students have shown throughout the year.

Proceedings began by showcasing our amazing Derby Dancers. Ms Hubert reflected on the superb achievements of the whole school community this year and looked forward to a new year guided by our new school motto: “Inspired to make a difference”

The Heads of Year were able to share these great moments with their students giving out the prizes and thanking their year group for their great achievements. Each subject awarded certificate prizes, Sports Day winners were celebrated, our star of the term was recognised and Special Prizes given.

These special prizes rewarded those who had exhibited the values and character that showcase the heart of what the Derby School Community stands for. Special Prizes were awarded for resilience, being a model for the 7Rs, community involvement, being a great student leader, achievement and progress.

This was the first time this year that each year group had been able to celebrate together in our school hall. It was great event and a beacon of motivation and hope for all the students as they look forward to a new beginning in September. A chance to build on their successes and aspire to great things for the future.
