Cookery Club

Cookery club. A six-week cookery club run by Food Studies student leaders. The club aims to be student led and so students can discuss and select the recipes they wish to make. Students will also be able to decide how they could showcase their work, this make be a charity sale, sharing on the school’s social media, inviting parents to taste test or cooking for The Derby staff!

– Tuesdays 3 – 4:15pm

– September to December term 1a Key stage 4 pupils  

 – November to Dec term 1b year 9 pupils  

– January to March  term 2a year 8 pupils  

 – May to July term 3b  year 7 pupils

  • To develop new skills  
  • To build confidence in the kitchen 
  • To work independently and part of a team  
  • To experiment with different flavours and ingredients

What you will need
  • An interest in practical cookery 
  • Commitment to the full six-week club (Places will be limited and so students with a confirmed place only to attend)  
  • A willingness to experiment and share new idea’s 
  • A container  
  • Extra ingredients can be optional  
  • Permission to attend
