If you love to read out poetry and want to help with our once-termly Poetry ‘Open Mic’ Library events, this is the place to branch out and leaf through poetry to enjoy it, and grow your confidence by read silently and aloud, both individually and in groups.

Once a term ‘Open Mic’ events held in the Library at lunchtime – first one to be National Poetry Day on Thursday 7th October
Aims of the course
  • To broaden students’ knowledge of and exposure to poetry

  • To encourage a love of poetry

  • To increase students’ confidence in reading aloud with performance

  • Reading aloud skills such as expression and fluency
  • Confidence
  • Difference between types of poetry
  • Knowledge of poems and poets
What you will need
  • An interest in poetry
  • Good manners and politeness
  • The ability to work as a team and individually.
